Compact audio cassettes were first released in 1963 and are still in use in some countries.

VERSIONS:
There were two versions commonly used: Standard for everyday consumer use, and Micro which were smaller versions used in business for dictation and recording meets, as well as in answering machines. And, yes, we transfer old answering machine tapes.

LENGTHS AND QUALITY:
The recording time and quality of audio cassettes were very wide ranging with some tapes capable of recording 1 hour on each side. Cassettes could also be purchased with as little as 5 minutes recording time on each side which were commonly used for promotional purposes and music demos. Some tapes were very cheaply made for general use while others were made for high quality recording.

NOTE- WE DO NOT TRANSFER MULTI TRACK AUDIO CASSETTES.
There were home recording units capable of recording 4 tracks on standard cassettes. These were commonly used by musicians. We do not transfer these tapes.

TAPE COLLECTION RULES (Applies only to Commercial Cassettes)
We can backup your commercial cassette collection to digital files under the following conditions:

* All tapes must be original and not copies.
* We will only return the files to you on a drive that you own. We do not upload copywritten material.
* We do not separate tracks or type titles. Tapes will be numbered and each side of the tape will have a file that says that number with ab A or B.
* Includes 320k MP3 Files. WAV or other file formats available at higher quote. ASK.
* We do not refund any tapes unreadable due to poor condition.
* We MUST return ship all items to you to remain compliant under the law.
